MIKE MELLOR worked for years in the newspaper and music businesses, during which time he spiralled down into the chaotic life of an alcoholic. After conversations with a work colleague he was dramatically converted to Christianity.
After studying in Theological College, he went on to pastor churches in South Wales and Central London before serving as a staff evangelist for The Open Air Mission.
Until ‘retirement’ in 2015 he was pastor of Hope Church, Ferndown in Dorset. Since then, his main focus has been itinerant preaching, evangelism, evangelism training and writing, as well as enjoying the privilege of serving on the committees of The Open Air Mission and Outreach UK whilst continuing as an elder of Hope Church.
Married to his long-suffering wife, Gwen, they have four grown children and seven grandchildren. For the challenge, he seeks to support both Liverpool (city of birth) and AFC Bournemouth (town of upbringing) soccer teams.
